About Club Competition
The club members can compete for the following fishing awards;
Full descriptions and rules relating to each award can be found in the Club By-Laws .
Club Competition & ANSA 12 Month Competition reports will be posted throughout the year so you can see were individuals and the club stands in the competion circuit.
Outing Awards
The following awards will be presented for each outing:
(i) highest ANSA point-scoring fish; and
(ii) highest all tackle points.
In the event of a tie in either award, two or more prizes will be awarded. The winners will be announced at the meeting of the Club immediately following the outing and the nature of the prizes will be decided by the Committee from time to time.
All Tackle Club Championship
The following awards will be presented after the conclusion of the Club Year:
(i) All Tackle Club Champion;
(ii) All Tackle Sub-Junior Club Champion; and
(iii) Junior Achievement Certificate.
Calculation of all tackle points
Points may be gained only at Club outings and are allocated as follows:
(i) one point per fish with a maximum of two captures per species (as per the ANSA eligible species list) per Club outing regardless of ANSA divisions and sections; and
(ii) one bonus point will be awarded per outing to those anglers attending that outing once they have signed the outings book.
Club Champion Awards
The following Club Champion awards will be presented after the conclusion of the Club year:
(i) Overall Club Champion;
(ii) Freshwater Club Champion;
(iii) Saltwater Club Champion;
(iv) Land-based Club Champion;
(v) Ladies Club Champion; and
(vi) Junior Club Champion.
Highest Point scoring Fish awards
The following Highest Point scoring Fish awards will be presented after the conclusion of the Club year:
(i) Best Fish Blue Water;
(ii) Best Fish from the Rocks;
(iii) Best Fish Blue Water;
(iv) Best Fish from the Beach;
(v) Best Fish Freshwater; and
(vi) Best Shark or Ray.
Most versatile angler award
Eligibility – To become eligible for this trophy a member must have entered fish in at least three of the following sections :-
(i) Best Fish Blue Water;
(ii) Best Fish Rocks;
(iii) Best Fish Beach;
(iv) Best Fish Estuary;
(v) Best Fish Freshwater.
Other Awards
The following awards will be presented after the conclusion of the Club year:
(i) Total Length Award – Saltwater
(ii) Total Length Award – Freshwater Saltwater
(iii) Fly fishing Trophy
(iv) Tagging Trophy
(v) Tagging Ton
(vi) Board Fish
(vii) All Time Board Fish
(viii) Bottle Fish
(ix) Masters Trophy
Awards decided by the Committee
Nominations will be accepted from members towards the end of the Club year for deliberation by the Committee:
(i) Club Member of the Year;
(ii) Most Improved Angler;
(iii) Most Improved Junior Angler;
(iv) Most Meritorious Capture;
(v) Gold Badge;
(vi) The Skipper’s Award.
Nominations should include a short statement of reasons why the nominee should receive the award in question. The Committee shall decide the winner of these awards by secret ballot of the Committee members present at the final Committee meeting of the Club year.
