Braemer – Lake Eucumbene
The Canberra Fisherman’s Club outing in May was Braemer / Lake Eucumbene. 7 of us hired a great house in the Caravan Village for a promising autumn fishing.

The Catch
No frost but thick fog greeted us Saturday morning which lifted by nine o’clock to a beautiful blue sky and a balmy day.

We all met for lunch in beautiful Wainui Bay but without a catch ! What’s going on ? It’s been said, the water is too warm (19°C) and the Brown’s are already up the river spawning. By the evening only one Rainbow and one Brown had been caught.

Sunday arrived with a beautiful frost and again a super beautiful day. Chris Lemmon caught a Rainbow of the bank and not to be out done, brother Ben Lemmon with his last cast of the day pulled in a great 53cm Brown.
Typically Eucumbene, either its hot or cold for fish and/or weather.
