I would like to start with an important reminder that there will be a Special General Meeting held prior to the Annual General Meeting on WEDNESDAY 10th August at 7:30pm. We need to have a majority of financial senior members at this meeting to have a quorum to run the meeting. After nine years of putting my time into the club as a committee member, I will be standing down at the AGM.

Well the 9th Annual Canberra Carp Out is done and dusted and another successful event run by the club thanks to the help from all our club volunteers. Without the support of our membership we certainly could not run this event. So from myself and the committee I wish to thank everyone who assisted. We are still tidying up a few loose ends and hope to have the final figures for the next general meeting.

I would like to also thank all of our Canberra Carp Out sponsors below who, without their support, we just could not get this event off the ground.

Hi all,

Firstly, I would like to congratulate all the award winners at the 2014-15 CFC Presentation Night. I’m sure all that were there would agree that it was a great night. It was great to see it well attended this year with only a few of the winners absent so I will try to present the unpresented awards at the next general meeting.

Volume 19 Issue 3 October 2015

Hi all,

Well we start this month’s newsletter with a report that Team Canberra Fishos had a fantastic time attending the Gold Coast Flathead Classic on the 1st – 3rd October and managed to finish up in the top 20 out of 217 teams. We already have a returning team for 2016 and would highly recommend it to other members to join us as the more teams, the merrier. Also, I have to say; ‘Great work!’ by the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club for putting on an excellent event. Anthony has written a great article later on in the newsletter about the trip.

G’day all,

Firstly, a BIG THANK YOU once again to all our members that were involved in the successful running of our 41st Annual Burrinjuck Convention. To our Burrinjuck Chair this year, Anthony Heiser - who as always puts in a big effort, made sure all the food and hire equipment was ordered, picked up and shipped to the event. To our Sponsorship Officer, Michael Jewry for his first time at taking this type of role in making contact with the sponsors and arranging for delivery of sponsored goods - without such tremendous help and support from our sponsors, the event would simply not run.
