Well where did Summer go? February marks the end of Summer and has turned up more excellent fishing. Brian Stacy has put in some time gamefishing down the South Coast and managed a great marlin at the end of January, followed by some mahi mahi at the Jess Sams Tournament in Ulladulla.
The February Club outing was the Nowra Convention and it was a great social event. Kevin Spriggs found us fantastic accommodation that suited clubs like us perfectly – definitely one to remember for the future; thanks Kevin. The seas were a bit too bumpy to venture offshore, but the estuaries fished quite well for flathead. Karen and I were held up at work until fairly late on Friday night, so we weren’t able to join the outing at about lunchtime on Saturday. We had to work pretty hard for the fish, but the quality was excellent and I managed to finally catch a masters flathead (Karen quickly reminded me that she already has three). I really enjoyed the Club BBQ on Saturday night as we relived the day’s action – thanks again to Kevin for organising the BBQ too.
