What a busy year it’s been! The books have now closed on the 2016-17 Club Championship and trophies are being prepared for Presentation Night.
There have been some spectacular captures contributing to the Championship….. and some spectacular failures vying for this year’s joke trophies. Make sure you reserve Friday, 1st of September 2017 in your diary for the annual Presentation Night – it will be a great opportunity to show our respect for the achievements of the winners and have a heap of fun remembering what members did to win the joke trophies.
I’m writing this report having just returned home from the Ulladulla Outing. This is usually a great outing if the weather is kind, but on this occasion strong winds and icy conditions made fishing difficult. Keith and I decided against taking the boat outside the Ulladulla Harbour after a quick look and a conversation with the Volunteer Marine Rescue radio operator. A quick change of gear saw us heading up to St Georges Basin where we tried all our go-to lures and baits for not even a bite – even the pickers were shut down. The 11 degree water temperature possibly had something to do with it!
